About Tentacle

Tentacle, a start-up based in Plano (TX), is building a configurable data management tool that will allow businesses to improve their information security programs by: tracking their enterprise-specific program details; seamlessly integrating industry standards and protocols into their program to ensure compliance with best-practices; and directly communicating their program's activities and insights to vendors and partners via Tentacle's permission-based network.

The Company is run by a successful entrepreneur (the founder of YourCause, which sold to Blackbaud in 2019), and is well-capitalized as a result of a Series A investment from a premier private equity firm. Information Security Lead/Manager
We are seeking to add an individual with a passion and enthusiasm for understanding and demystifying information security, who will help the Tentacle application play an effective role in improving the industry. The responsibilities of this position include expanding and enhancing the content within the Tentacle core application; identifying related and strategic growth opportunities for our business; and managing and enhancing the security posture of Tentacle. An individual with intimate familiarity with security frameworks, technical enterprise assessments, vendor audits, and today’s latest cybersecurity evaluations would likely be an ideal fit for this position. Additionally, the ideal candidate would be highly proficient in working with large data sets; be able to easily manage and analyze data within an xls/csv file; and have a level of editorial proficiency that facilitates clear, concise, and practical communications within both the core application and amongst the team. Finally: as is the case with all jobs at Tentacle, integrity, respectfulness, and a "Team First" mentality are paramount.

Additional Details:
- Experience working on enterprise information security programs – including business continuity and disaster recovery planning, risk assessments, and policy creation, deployment, and testing – is a plus.
- Intimate understanding of today’s relevant security frameworks – and their practical application to today’s enterprise environment – is useful.
- Being motivated by problem solving – without fear of the unknown – is a must.

Backend Developer (Node.js)

Tentacle is seeking an experienced marketing professional who will bring a creative, innovative, analytical, and effective approach to Tentacle’s marketing, branding, content-creation, and lead-generation efforts. This individual will help establish the blueprint for deriving initial awareness of our product, in partnership with our Digital Strategy Lead. This individual will also work closely with our in-house product, content, and data science experts – and will ideally bring the full depth and breadth of their skillsets, experiences, and interests to the table.
